The Rundown: Two opposing forces must overcome distrust to face a common foe.
The captured forces of Sir Charles find themselves forced to fight side by side with the Samurai troops when a massive dragon attacks their stronghold. As the battle rages, both sides find it difficult to pierce the creatures hide while Baggi uses the creature’s absence to enact his part of the plan for the benefit of his lord.
As Mundric finds a way to hold back the dragon’s advance and working together allows for a temporary solution, Charles and the others find a way to force the creature back. Unfortunately, none of them realize that there are other forces at play with their own plans.
The Story: A thrilling and thoroughly entertaining ride from Dastmalchian filled with terror and great adventure. I am consistently impressed with the world being created in this series and the complicated characters that inhabit it. The story is consistently thrilling, engaging and compelling both in its characters and overall mystery. I am impressed with the complicated narrative and how it allows the story to flow organically and hold the attention of the reader.
The Art: Mele delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. The action is visually stunning and I love the brutal imagery throughout as well as the character designs.
