The Rundown: Lord Charles and his men are captured, but the tension between the groups will be short lived when their real enemy emerges.
After being ambushed on the beach, Charles and his people are captured by the Samurai army and caged as their leader decides what to do with them, especially with his own enemy breathing down their collective necks. After bringing Charles to speak and dealing with the not insignificant language barrier, the tensions within his own forces threaten to boil over for Charles.
At the same time, the man who betrayed Charles travels to meet with their mutual enemy as the Knights discover what they are facing when a giant dragon travels to the camp and prepares to destroy it.
The Story: Dastmalchian consistently delivers a fantastic story in this issue. The story takes huge swings with the drama, action and characters and everything lands brilliantly. There is a fantastic buildup of suspense throughout the story and the tension boils through every interaction. I love the language barrier between these groups and how that tension threatens everything in the story. Things come to a head beautifully with the reveal towards the end of the story and it ends on a fantastic cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Fede Mele delivers amazing art throughout the issue. There is a wonderful mixture of visual tension and beauty throughout the entire issue.
