The Rundown: The Duke’s forces find themselves facing off against an unknown and dangerous foe.

Sir Charles and his forces have made their way to the beach and do not find the savages that they were looking for. They find a formidable fighting force using sword, arrow and magic. Their tense standoff comes to blows because of a careless mistake.
As both sides begin to battle, one of the Duke’s men begins a secret plan while Sir Charles and his men are distracted. A plan that will lead Sir Charles and the others to be captured by an enemy they cannot understand.
The Story: Dastmalchian creates a thrilling and action packed story in this issue. I loved the action throughout the story as well as the machinations of multiple characters. I love the mystery of motivations throughout the story and there are some great moments of drama that are compelling. The story takes some interesting turns and I continue to love the moral ambiguity of the characters. You don’t know who is truly good or evil and that complexity keeps me intrigued enough to keep reading.
The Art: Mele delivers beautifully detailed art throughout the story. I love the visual brutality of the battles and how wonderfully visually engaging the characters and their world continue to be.
