The Rundown: With Cliff turned into a Sleepless Knight, Zatanna finds herself trapped in a terrifying nightmare.
Zatanna is being chased by the Sleepless Knights in a maze through the Hall of Justice. After turning Cliff into a Sleepless Knight, Zatanna fights to find a way to escape, protect her friends and free Cliff.
After finding a way to escape for a short time, she finds herself facing the ghost of her father. Zatanna faces her own doubts and decides that if she has any chance of escape, she’s going to have to face the Knights straight on and free Robotman.
The Story: Culver crafts an entertaining, thrilling and wonderfully tense story in this issue. I love the character a lot and seeing her on the defensive drew me into the story and I loved seeing her turn the tables the only way that she can. I really enjoyed the drama as she faced off against her own fears and nightmares. The connection to the bigger story is well done and I love where this leaves the character at the end.
The Art: I am a huge fan of David Baldeon’s art and this issue features some fantastic action and character designs. Every page and panel has something beautiful and compelling to see.
