The Rundown: Jim Gordon finds himself facing some nightmarish new villains.
Jim Gordon continues to mourn, but when he returns home Sorrow tells him that there is something wrong with the city. Something that will bring the pair to a meeting with a group of apparent “good people of Gotham” who call on dark forces to save the city. Unfortunately, their call will go to creatures who are seemingly unstoppable.
As Gordon barely escapes an attack from the creatures, he goes to see someone who might have information. At the same time, Gordon finds himself falling apart physically. A condition that could stop his mission before it begins.
The Story: Watters crafts an entertaining, engaging and scary story for Jim Gordon in this issue. I like that the focus is on Jim and the darkness that surrounds him outside of his relationship with Batman. The story has some wonderful nightmarish elements throughout it including the villains within the plot. I really enjoyed this dark story and look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Federici delivers some fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are dark, scary and beautifully detailed.
