The Rundown: Roland King goes home to settle some unfinished business.
All of the warnings Roland never heeded about leaving the service return as his wife reveals that he will never give up his life as a spy, his mentor warns him of the mental toll and his son waits for him to return. In the present, Roland awakens to find himself facing death at the hands of a former enemy while his adult son waits with his team to kill him himself. Unfortunately, Roland is able to escape, but not easily. He finds himself in the home of a woman he used to know intimately and learns the truth of what happened to her after he got what he wanted and left her.
After revealing another secret to her, Roland pays a visit to someone special before implementing his final plan. A plan that will bring him face to face with his son and the men hunting him. As he sits before a room full of people wanting him dead, Roland King decides to not only go out with a bang, but with a message to the people who meant the most to him.
The Story: Millar brings this story to an explosive, jarring and intense conclusion. The story is filled with drama, humor and thrills from start to finish. I had no idea where the story was going and every moment of it revealed new surprises that I wasn’t expecting. There is an awesome cinematic quality to this story and I love how unexpected its resolution became.
The Art: Scalera delivers some fantastic art on every page. The visuals are stunning, beautifully detailed and as thrilling as the story itself.
