Comedian/Director and podcast host Kevin Smith took to Instagram to assure fans and well wishers that he was doing fine after a traumatic event that sent him to the hospital.
Smith was filming a comedy special like his previous Evening with Kevin Smith specials when he felt ill. After getting sick, he was taken to Glendale hospital where it was determined that he had a massive heart attack. He had a 100% blockage in his left anterior descending artery.
He cancelled the second show and went to the hospital. That is what the doctors said saved his life. He is currently in recovery and has received a massive outpouring of support from both friends and fans.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h
