With the recent resurgence of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in both action figures and comic books, Fatman Beyond dynamic duo Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin are bringing the heroes of Eternia back with a new animated series coming to Netflix.
The writer/director and star of the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot went to Power Con this weekend and surprised the audience in attendance with the news that he and his podcast co-host are bringing back the beloved characters for a new series titled Masters of the Universe: Revelations.
Smith will serve as executive producer of the series which will pick up where the original animated series left off and focus on the characters journeys over the years as well as unresolved storylines.
“In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!” Smith told the crowd.
Bernardin will come on board as one of the writers of the series along with Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen) and Diya Mishra (Magic the Gathering). Rob David, VP of Mattel TV and author of He-Man: the Eternity War, will also serve as executive producer.
