The Rundown: A darkness is affecting both the past and future causing heroes from across time to band together to stop it.

In the 31st Century, the Legion of Super-Heroes have gathered to face an intergalactic threat. After ending it, a darkness envelopes the group and in its aftermath, one of Triplicate Girl’s duplicates disappears. In the present, the Justice League have completed a mission and a similar darkness threatens to take Wonder Woman but instead delivers someone else.

While the Legion attempts to discover what has happened to their teammate and where the darkness that took her is coming from, John Kent arrives in the future to bring a team with him back to the past to work with the League to determine what’s happening. A mission that will have both teams taken to the unknown and one hero left behind.

The Story: Bendis creates a good story and an entertaining tale in this first issue. The characters are done really well and their dynamics keep me interested in the story being told. There is a lot going on and I like seeing John being used as a bridge between the two teams. I like that there is enough mystery in the first issue that makes me interested in finding out more.

The Art: Godlewski delivers some great art in the issue. The style is perfect for the type of story being told and it lends itself brilliantly to the action and characters.
