Victor Stone is going to get the opportunity to relive his glory days as the people who worship him prepare to make the Ghost Sector relive his greatest fear.

The Odyssey team finds themselves among a group of refugees who worship Cyborg as their deity. Victor does not want the responsibility or the praise, but that doesn’t stop them. It also doesn’t stop Azrael from needling Vic about it.

One of the faithful, who has adopted a similar look to his god, directs them to the homeworld of Cyborg worshippers and the team takes a cautious trip to what looks like a technological utopia.

Then they get knocked out, captured and Victor is forced to fight Azrael to prove that he’s the real deal. It’s a call back to Vic’s former life and the first time in a long time that fans of the character got to see a “Booyah” moment. Unfortunately, once Victor proves who he really is, his “followers” unveil their plans for the Ghost Sector and it is not a mission of peace.

Williamson does a good job of focusing on Victor in this issue. There are some really great moments between the team and there are some genuinely funny moments with Jean Paul including his introduction to his own disciple. The reveal of the next part of Darkseid’s plans was well executed in this issue to keep the level of tension high as well as remind readers that there is a bigger plot unfolding around these heroes.

Brinoes’ art is amazing. There are so many detailed panels that caught my eye, but some of my favorites are the ones showcasing the beautiful backgrounds and cityscapes. Everything looked really good and complemented the story really well.
