The Ghost Sector gets more dangerous for this new Justice League team.
Starfire is not handling the information she received from the dead priest well and is physically lashing out at the rest of her team. Cyborg has to try a different approach in order to bring her down and when she’s finally subdued, they discover that the planet they are on is beginning to change beneath their feet.
They escape the surface with help from Jessica and immediately begin to look for help for Kory. When they find a signal that leads them to an ice planet, the team finds that there are Colun’s there that might have the parts they need to repair their ship. Unfortunately, a local gang has enslaved them and the team springs into action to help them. What they don’t know is that not only is the mystery alien who is helping Kory someone they know, but someone with ties to Azrael is hunting them as well.
This was a good issue. It wasn’t as heavy as the previous ones and allowed the mysteries of the Ghost Sector to continue to unfold as the reader learns secrets the team are unaware of. Williamson does a good job challenging the team’s dynamics through their interactions with each other. There is a slower build up in this issue and it gives the dialogue the ability to focus on the characters.
Briones’ art is incredible in this issue. There are so many great panels, especially the action ones. My favorite is the escape from the planet and Jessica’s construct. Great art throughout.
