The Rundown: Jessica Cruz is sent to the past and must recruit a new ally to help her stop Epoch from rewriting reality.
Suzi Starr is the last of the Space Rangers and her mission to bring in a group of alien gangsters does not go as planned. Outmatched and outgunned, the sudden appearance of Jessica Cruz is the only thing that can save the woman Cruz will know as Gamma.
After rescuing her, she explains why she’s there and what they need to do. Gamma decides to take her on a trip through time in a dangerously used ship. A trip that could prove fatal for both heroes.
The Story: It was interesting to see Gamma’s past and learn about who she was before working with Epoch. Jessica’s intervention is handled well and the story really starts to move after that. This is the biggest problem with the issue itself. The immediacy of the plot makes the story feel too short. The story moves from beat to beat without a connective rhythm that engages the reader. I read it twice and it just jumped from one thing to the next and felt like half a story.
The Art: Cliff Richards’ art is great. With the lack of story, the art takes center stage and the action is fantastic to see.
