The Rundown: Darkseid’s power continues to grow as the rest of the team must face one of their own to stop his plan.
The Justice League team stand off against the growing power of Darkseid and a transformed Cyborg. As they rally to both help their friend and stop the despot, they are unaware that every action they take has been set in motion by the New God himself. As each team member falls to his will, they ignite and activate another part of Sepulkore.
Jessica Cruz stands as well with her power depleting and with no role in Darkseid’s plan, the Green Lantern stands defiant against the forces of Darkseid and as the battle rages to an uncertain end, one hero will fall to the might of a Darkseid reborn.
The Story: Dan Abnett takes the reader on a methodical, well plotted and dark conclusion in this issue. Darkseid is given the might and menace that has made him one of the most powerful enemies in the DC universe. Abnett not only makes him a powerful threat, but also a brilliant strategist in this issue. I was impressed with how well the character was written here. The conclusion of this issue was jaw-dropping and I am on the edge of my seat to learn what happens next.
The Art: Will Conrad illustrates this issue beautifully. All of the characters look amazing and the action is fantastic.
