The Rundown: The dark entity from the Otherworld makes Diana an offer that will help free her to help her team.
Diana’s soul is still trapped in the Collective Unconscious while Circe is in control of her body. As her Dark Legion of Doom attempts to breach the sealed doors of the armory, Circe enlists the powers of the slain dragon to breach the magic protecting the door so she can retrieve the powers of Eclipso.
The rest of the team works to find a way to keep the villains out and Constantine reminds them that they are surrounded by weapons that have challenged the league itself so they are not totally defenseless. At the same time, Eclipso tempts Zatanna with his powers and one of the members of Justice League Dark will make a fateful decision as Wonder Woman makes a dark deal that might save them all or destroy the world.
The Story: James Tynion IV ramps up the tension and action in this issue as Circe and her minions back the team into a corner on all sides. There is an immediacy to the story that makes the plot thrilling. This is a great issue with some palpable stakes for everyone involved, especially Wonder Woman. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next and what the ramifications of the heroes decision will be.
The Art: Alvaro Martinez Bueno delivers some stunning art in this issue. The action is thrilling and everything looks fantastic.
