The Rundown: The Justice League is pulled into a battle with a powerful foe leading an even more powerful army of villains.
All over the universe the members of the Justice League are transported away. As they reconvene in darkness, they discover that they have been taken to the House of Heroes by President Superman and the remaining members of the Justice League Incarnate. Unfortunately, this isn’t a friendly reunion as President Superman tells the others what happened to Barry Allen and Darkseid.
With the Great Darkness stalking them throughout the multiverse, both teams are forced to transport to a ravaged world to face off against Pariah who is preparing to end their world and bring the Darkness forward. Unfortunately, he is not alone as some of their greatest enemies are ready to destroy them. As the battle rages, Black Adam makes a desperate attempt to save himself, but not all of the heroes of the Justice League will return to Earth alive.
The Story: As a prelude to a bigger arc, Williamson does a great job of setting the stage and bringing all the characters to their starting points. There is some great drama being teased throughout the issue and some moments that tease at something even more interesting from characters like Darkseid and Black Adam. The tease of this arc has me interested in seeing what comes next.
The Art: Rafa Sandoval delivers some great art in the issue. There is some beautifully detailed action throughout and enough emotional moments to capture the depth and humanity of the characters.
