The Rundown: The Justice League continues its trip through the nightmare landscape of the Batman Who Laughs Earth and find themselves in a potentially deadly new locale.
Starfire and Cyborg emerge from a Boom Tube in a new and unknown land. When they are attacked by twisted versions of Batman villains, Nightwing and the rest of the League arrive in time to help them with Lex Luthor in tow. When the team ultimately rejects Lex’s help, they venture out into the unknown only to find the valley of Starros.
As they attempt to make their way through without waking the creatures, they will find that their minds are already being affected in ways that will pit them against each other. At the same time, Martian Manhunter begins a battle of wills against a Dark Multiverse Batman with his powers.
The Story: Joshua Williamson continues the journey through the dystopian world of the Batman Who Laughs with a story that is engaging for fans of the Teen Titans. I lived seeing Nightwing back with Kory and Cyborg. The story was fun and their interactions when they reach the valley of Starros is the best part of the story. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially between Martian Manhunter and the Mindhunter.
The Art: Xermanico’s art is really good. I enjoyed the look and feel of the art and the retro look of the characters in their delusion.
