The Rundown: A horror movie fan is given some unique powers in her mission to fight evil.

Allie is a young woman living in Empire City and at night she fights monsters as the vigilante Jumpscare. After getting powers from a dark entity, the horror fan discovers that she can produce any weapon from any horror film she’s ever seen. Unfortunately, her home life with her strict evangelical parents makes being herself insanely difficult and their determination to stop vigilantes is making things worse.
When a crew of professionals tracks her down, she is forced to fight them off and discovers that they were sent by her parents to bring her home. After infiltrating the home, she has a tense reunion with her parents and discovers that they need her help.
The Story: Bunn crafts a strange, engaging and entertaining story in this first issue. I am impressed by the premise of this story and the characters within it. Allie is an interesting character and I really enjoyed seeing the biggest threat to her existence come from the people closest to her. I really enjoyed the progression of this story and the surprise reveal at the end of the issue. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Luckert delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and the visual gore of the issue.
