CBS Announced last year that they were developing a new version of The Twilight Zone for their All Access streaming service with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films.
According to Deadline, the Academy Award winning writer/director of the hit Get Out will also be taking a turn in front of the camera. As well as producing the new series, Peele will serve as the host and narrator of the anthology series created and hosted by Rod Serling.
CBS released a short teaser that features the voices of Serling and Peele in a reimagining of the iconic Twilight Zone intro.
“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” said Peele. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
The Twilight Zone is set to begin production this fall with a premiere date sometime in 2019.
