The Rundown: Constantine and his companions find themselves transporting a strange man with a possible connection their mission.
Things are getting more intense on the road as John Constantine finds himself in the presence of Dream again who is fading. With Swamp Thing unable to return for the time being, Constantine is tasked with finishing his mission in Los Angeles after picking up someone on the road who can lead them to what they seek.
After picking up their strange passenger, the group continues west and discovers that their new ally is not what he appears to be and that the object John is protecting is his target. Something that will give him the power to get what he really wants.
The Story: Spurrier crafts a beautifully surreal nightmare in the pages of this issue. There is definite tension throughout this issue and every one of the characters is dealing with that tension in interesting ways. The story continues to be brilliantly complex and engaging as it builds on its tension and suspense to a surprising cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Campbell delivers beautifully detailed and visually complex art throughout the issue. I love the dark ominous look of this series especially when things start to get really intense and strange.
