Writer/Producer/Director John Carpenter has brought to life some of the best action films and horror classics to the screen during his career.
Now Carpenter is looking to bring a new vision to life with an overall deal with Universal. The writer/director of such classic films as Halloween, Escape from New York and The Thing will be working with Universal Cable and SyFy on two new series. The first will be titled “Tales for a Halloween Night” based on his graphic novel anthology and will have the horror legend tread some familiar ground as the series will feature horror tales from writers of TV, movies and comics crafting new scares for an eager audience.
The next project will be based on the novel series Nightside about an area of London that is completely secret from the rest of the world, bathed in eternal darkness and filled with creatures of the night. The series was created by Simon R. Green. “I’m excited to partner with Universal Cable Productions on this venture into television,” said Carpenter.
