The Rundown: The Storyteller recounts the tale of Reynard the fox and his friend Stork.
The Storyteller and his friend visit a bazaar. After the companion becomes distracted by the many vendors, The Storyteller gifts him with a tale. In the story, Stork runs into his friend Reynard on the way to sell items at the market. After a brief conversation, Reynard decides to try his luck in the same location. When Stork interrupts Reynard’s sales pitch, chaos ensues.
The Story:
This was a fun story that made me want to know more about the adventures of Reynard. I love how in this edition, The Storyteller and his friend are in a different setting. The juxtaposition between their market adventures and Reynard’s is not lost on me. And I appreciate the thoughtfulness of El-Mohtar’s presentation.
The Art:
Isa Hanssen uses a youthful art style that is filled with lots of color. The palates change with the story in an engaging manner. This issue is fun to look at and really transports you in The Storytellers world.
