Deron GenerallyActor Jim Carrey is stepping away from the canvases and paints to return to the big screen in the Paramount adaptation of the Sega video game character Sonic the Hedgehog.
According to an exclusive in Deadline, Carrey is in negotiations to play the main villain in the film Dr. Robotnik also known as Eggman. The combination live action/ CGI film also stars Tika Sumpter and James Marsden. It is directed by Jeff Fowler from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Deadpool director Tim Miller will serve as executive producer.
Jim Carrey is known for his roles in films like Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Man in the Moon, The Grinch and more. He is currently executive producing the series I’m Dying Up Here for Showtime as well as starring in the upcoming Showtime series Kidding which airs in September.
