Deron GenerallyAcademy Award winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) is joining the cast of TNT’s Snowpiercer series.
Based on the 2013 film by Bong Joon Ho which starred Tilda Swinton and Chris Evans, the new series on TNT will be set seven years after an event that turns the world into a frozen wasteland. The remnants of humanity live on a perpetually moving train that crosses the entire planet. Connelly will play a first class passenger named Melanie Cavill who is the voice of the train. She is tasked with delivering public announcements over the trains PA system. She also harbors a curiosity with the people who exist in the lower classes on the train.
Connelly will join Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs in the pilot which is being helmed by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, who will also serve as Executive Producer along with showrunner Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles).
