The Rundown: Tony assembles a ragtag group of heroes to help him stop Korvac.
Korvac’s plan to take on Galactus has been revealed and everything he has building to reach that goal is set. The only thing standing in his way is Tony Stark and Hellcat, so Korvac decides to remove them from the equation. On his end, Tony has recruited a group of heroes to help him take on Korvac and his followers. A team that includes Scarlet Spider, Misty Knight and others. As he and his team plan their next move, Patsy continues to hear Korvac’s voice in her mind.
With the rest of the team distracted, Patsy goes looking for Korvac. When she finds him, he springs the trap he had set for Tony when he arrives and reveals that it is not the only one he has prepared in order to take Iron Man and his team out of the game.
The Story: Cantwell crafts a really good story in this issue. There is a darkness to the story that is evident in its tone, dialogue and narration. The dark tone of the story is executed well, but some of the moments last a little too long. I wish more time had been spent with Patsy and what was happening to her. That was an interesting side story that felt truncated. The rest of the story is good and I like seeing Tony dealing with his own doubts.
The Art: Cafu delivers some stunning art throughout this issue. There isn’t a lot of action, but the art does a great job of focusing on the characters and the style of the art perfectly captures the mood of the story.
