The Rundown: With Rhodey missing, Tony and Patsy have their work cut out for them trying to find him as Korvac takes the next step in his ascension.
In the aftermath of the incident in Oklahoma, Tony and Patsy return to New York battered and broken. With the media hounding him about the kidnapping of James Rhodes, Tony talks to Patsy about what their next move should be while dealing with his own sense of guilt. Unfortunately, Patsy is dealing with some issues of her own including one she cannot understand and the pair work through their issues and find a level of comfort with each other.
At the same time, Rhodey fights to maintain control as Korvac and his crew move to New York in order to begin the next part of his plan. A plan that will require the location of Galactus’ ship in the galaxy. As Korvac begins the next phase of his plan, Tony looks for some unusual help in his fight while Patsy discovers a connection to the events she might not be able to come back from.
The Story: There is a lot of great character development and dialogue throughout this issue. Cantwell does a great job of moving the story in some interesting directions while making Korvac into an interesting threat. The scope of the plan is ambitious and each page is filled with tension. I was impressed with the personal relationship between Tony and Patsy and it will be interesting to see how it develops and what it evolves into.
The Art: Cafu does a great job with the art. The issue is very character focused so the art reflects it in great close up moments with the characters and details that give an intimacy to the imagery. A great looking issue.
