The Rundown: Tony and his team confront Korvac, but they might be too late to stop him.
In the aftermath of Tony’s allies explosive entrance, Korvac and his team are injured, but not deterred from their mission. After Korvac starts the teleporter, Tony is powerless to stop them from escaping. Rhodey manages to find him in time and the rest of the team escapes from their damaged ship. After regrouping, the team separates to find a way to stop Korvac from getting the power cosmic. Rhodes and his team find Korvac first and one member gets overzealous in trying to take the man down.
When the rest of the team arrives, they battle it out with Korvac’s acolytes, but the man himself has managed to make it to the chamber he seeks. When the battle proves to be too much for Tony, he is forced to make a decision that could forever alter him and the universe.
The Story: Cantwell delivers some exciting action and adventure throughout the issue. There is also some effective humor in the story and dialogue that is a little dark considering Tony’s condition. The momentum of the story keeps the reader engaged and that momentum leads to an exciting and intriguing finale that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Cafu delivers some beautiful imagery throughout the issue with huge, sweeping battles and gorgeously detailed characters. A great looking issue filled with visual energy.
