Deron GenerallyIn an Exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, there is news that another actor will be joining the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel in the role vacated by Will Smith.
According to the THR story, actor Idris Elba has met with Suicide Squad 2 writer/director James Gunn about taking on the role of the assassin Deadshot in the upcoming film. Deadshot was previously played by Will Smith and the actor recently told audiences that he would not be returning to the role.
Idris Elba is a huge name and an incredibly prolific actor. He can next be seen in the Fast and Furious spinoff film Hobbes and Shaw and will play the part of Macavity in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the musical Cats.
The Suicide Squad sequel is scheduled for release August 6, 2021.
