The Rundown: Icon and Rocket go global in their plans and their actions attract unwanted attention.

Icon and Rocket have a new target, the international drug trade. After taking on both the suppliers and distributors, the global market starts to feel the effects and the powerful begin a plan to stop them. In the aftermath, Icon tries to counsel his partner on her future and how the events they’ve set in motion could have a broader benefit. He also attempts to give her more lessons as he shares his experience with her as a former slave.

He also reveals that the creature that trapped him on Earth is still there and that their actions have gotten its attention. Attention that will be levied at the people Rocket cares about. At the same time, Raquel’s mother gets a knock on the door from a creature sent to deliver her daughter a message.

The Story: Hudlin does a brilliant job of bringing social commentary into this story in a way that is both revelatory and perfectly crafted for the plot and characters. The story is rich and engaging in multiple ways and the relationship between Icon and Rocket continues to be compelling as it evolves. I enjoy this plot immensely and am invested in both the characters and the world building of the series.

The Art: The visuals are intense and beautifully detailed throughout. There are so many great visual moments and the panels are brilliant in their design and detail.
