The Rundown: Denny’s time is running out and his desperate situation will lead to an unexpected alliance.
Denny is running out of time. If he doesn’t find a body for the new Don’s father to bring him back, the new head of the Gallo crime family is going to kill the psychic. Desperate and without money, Denny decides to go to the last person he gave his money to, Henrietta. Telling her the truth endears him to her and the two connect romantically. When he finds out that she works at the morgue, he decides to drop her off at work and try a new plan to get him out from under.
Using his enhanced powers, Denny resurrects the dead members of a rival crime family and sends them to take out the Gallo’s and buy him some time. With the zombies on the attack, Denny holds up in a local hotel and contacts Henrietta who arrives with an unexpected surprise.
The Story: This story takes some big, unexpected and entertaining twists as Denny gets more desperate. Ferrier fills this issue with interesting and engaging characters and a plot that is funny, fun and filled with energy and tension. I am enamored by this world and this eclectic cast of characters and love all the turns the story takes. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
The Art: Kambadais strikes the perfect tone with the art in this issue. There is a sense of fun to the artwork, but there are so many great action beats throughout.
