The Rundown: Batman fights for his life while Lucius Fox comes to a surprising decision. Meanwhile a member of the Fox family does something surprising.

The story opens with Jace Fox being treated for injuries while being chastised by someone close to him. The scene cuts to the present, and Batman is in a confrontation with T.A.L.O.S troopers, while Lucius Fox and Noonan watch the commotion from afar. Soon, Noonan makes a surprising decision that forces Lucius to take action. Later, Lucius and Jace have a long discussion. Elsewhere, Tamra Fox’s recovery takes a surprising turn. Finally, Batman’s latest choice leads him to contemplate his life.
The Story: Although this story is filled with tons of character development and nail-bighting action, I am most intrigued by the relationship between Lucius and Jace. The father and son have an honest conversation about therapy that is beautiful and on point. I think having these types of discussions in comic form does a lot to remove the stigma of mental health challenges. Especially in Brown and Black communities. I am curious to see how these two men will reconcile their past feelings and move forward.
The Art: This good-looking issue is filled with bold colors and detailed illustrations. The attention to character expression and form enhance the emotional connection to the characters. And there is a modern and serious tone that perfectly captures the mood of the story.
