The Rundown: Pip’s next project is a corrupt cop keeping a dark secret.

The story of young scout Pip continues to play out as his dark circumstances feed into his sadistic tendencies. In the present on Hyde Street, Pip finds himself face to face with officer Hank Downs. Pip intentionally berates the officer whose desire for power through authority forces him to throw the kid into the back seat of his cruiser.

As the pair travel through the winter night, Pip will uncover the dark secret Downs is hiding. A secret that will lead to the discovery of just how dark Downs can be with his power. In the aftermath, Pip will face off against the Scorekeeper who is not happy with the young man’s constant interference in other entities missions.

The Story: Johns continues to craft an entertaining and interesting story in this issue. Pip is an interesting character that has some brilliantly dark elements to his story that make me intrigued by him. I love all of the horror elements of this series and find myself intrigued by the mystery at the heart of Hyde Street and what it means for the characters.

The Art: Reis delivers dynamic art throughout the issue. The visuals are gorgeous and beautifully detailed throughout from the action to the characters.
