In the aftermath of the explosion that Logan sacrificed himself to set off in the last issue, the team is in search of the mutant through the rubble. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are sifting through the remains of the building when Iron Man finds something. Tony finds Logan’s body but can’t get any readings and all of them think the worse until Wolverine wakes up and things get really tense.
Fortunately for Tony, he decided to let his suit handle the search and the two of them have a pretty funny moment in the aftermath, especially after Logan realizes what he could have done. That same exchange gives us an insight into what Logan wants after his death and what he doesn’t want to happen to him. It’s a pretty bittersweet scene that plays personally to Tony. Back in the present, the team finds themselves on a sub underwater and Luke and Jessica discover that one of the items for sale is the DNA of their daughter.
As Tony and Peter decide that this supervillain auction might be a bust for information, Tony casually asks about Wolverine’s DNA and when someone gives him a price, all hell breaks loose when Sinister goes on the attack. As the team finds itself on a sinking sub, a new player emerges looking for answers herself.
I really enjoyed this issue and the story so far. Taylor has done a great job of expanding this mystery while giving the characters some personal moments to reflect on their relationship to Logan. It’s a really good story with some awesome art from Silva.
