The Rundown: Banner faces off against a mutated Spider-Man as Hulk is pushed to his limits.
The alternate Earth Banner has been captured by Ross and is being tortured for information as Bruce continues to battle the mutated Spider-Man across the mountains. With Betty in his ear and things getting dire, Bruce decides to push Hulk to his limits by having him face even bigger threats from zombies to gods, to demons.
After taking down the latest threat, Banner discovers that Ross has dropped something even deadlier onto the scene. Something that could change the balance of the battle. Unfortunately, Bruce will also discover that he is no longer in control of starship Hulk.
The Story: Cates delivers an action-packed extravaganza in this issue. There is action everywhere and great tension to make it engaging. The plot has great pacing and drama throughout and I enjoyed the emergence of a new protagonist Bruce has to face as well as the tension of what will happen if they keep pushing the Hulk darker psychologically.
The Art: Ottley delivers some fantastic art in the issue. The tone and style of the art are perfect for the gritty, dark and violent story.
