The Rundown: The James House is dying and with its last gasp, it will put the Home Sick Pilots in mortal danger.
The house is dying, but Ami continues the fight in order to keep the Nuclear Bastard from attacking civilians. When Ami sees that the ghosts that haunt the house are losing the will to fight, she waits for Meg to make her final move. Unfortunately, Rip arrives in a new mech powered by the most powerful ghost of them all. A ghost who doesn’t want to return to the house.
When Meg thinks she has a chance to end the house once and for all, she proceeds to continue the fight. What none of them know is that James is a lot smarter than they thought and takes advantage of the situation to not only remove Meg as a threat, but to regain what he lost before returning to where it all started.
The Story: Watters delivers on the action and thrills of the series in this issue. There are so many awesome action moments and scenes of tension that engage the reader. I appreciate the unpredictability of the plot and how it went in directions I couldn’t anticipate, yet enjoyed. The relationship dynamic between Ami, Rip and Buzz continues to be great and the end makes me excited for what comes next.
The Art: Wijngaard crafts some breathtaking imagery throughout the story. The ghosts continue to be both visually interesting and engaging and the action is fantastic.
