The Rundown: In the epic conclusion of the nine part series, Wally must come to terms with the consequences of his actions.
As he prepares to kill his past self to throw off the investigation, the previous suspects including Harley Quinn and Booster Gold. The group confront the former hero along with one of his resurrected victims and it takes both future Wally and Booster to convince present Wally that there is something worth living for.
Intermixed between the emotional moments we are given more moments with the heroes who have come to Sanctuary for help. One of the more interesting moments occurs when those who wear the mantle of Robin have a specific question that they want answered.
The Story: I’ve followed this storyline from the beginning. Every twist and turn and investigative revelation was well plotted and entertaining. Honestly, I expected more from this ending. The emotional moments work between the two Wallys and there is a lot to admire in the pacing of this issue. Unfortunately, so much has been built up in this storyline from Barry and Batman’s investigation to the hunt for Booster and Harley. Those storylines feel like they’ve been abandoned for the sake of completing the overall arc.
The Art: Clay Mann’s art is beautiful. Every panel and page is filled with beautiful details in both the characters and backgrounds. They do an amazing job of conveying the emotion of the scenes.
