The Rundown: Hercules goes on a mission for a god as a dangerous entity continues his dark plans.

After completing a mission for Aphrodite, Hercules decides to take another one from her husband Hephaestus. A prospect Meg is weary of since the last mission ended with the goddess missing in action. After deciding to take Galatea with him and Phil, they visit Hephaestus and discover one of his creations has gone missing.

After traveling beneath the Earth, Hercules discovers the creature they came to find. A creature that has used the knowledge given to it by the god to create its own twisted philosophy. At the same time, Hephaestus finds himself captured and taken to a familiar place.

The Story: Kalan continues to craft a fun and entertaining story for the characters in this issue. I continue to enjoy the interpersonal relationships in this series and how they carry over from the film. The story is light, fun and engaging with moments of intrigue that seem to be leading to an interesting reveal that I am looking forward to.

The Art: I’ve been a fan of Kambadais since discovering their work on the Gargoyles comic book series and the visuals in this issue do not disappoint. I love the style and how it manages to elevate the animated style of the movie and give it some edge.
