The Rundown: The Hellions are split up and Madelyne has special plans for Alex Summers.
The team is split up and the Marauders are almost ready to feed on both Nanny and Greycrow. Unfortunately, their meal gets interrupted by Psylocke and Wild Child. As the mutants fight, Madelyne’s hold on the Marauders starts to fade and Greycrow has some tough decisions to make about the fate of his old team.
At the same time, Madelyne Pryor has Havok fully under her thrall and plans to use him to unleash hell on the island of Krakoa. A hell that will fulfill her wish to be remembered by the rest of the mutants.
The Story: Zeb Wells brings this arc to a satisfying close with a story that is filled with action, tension and revelation. All of these characters are unique and Wells uses them in interesting ways that are all the more compelling by the fact that they are so unconventional. Having Psylocke as the lynch pin that holds this team together is a masterful piece of writing and she is used effectively in and among this group of characters.
The Art: Stephen Segovia’s art is masterful and beautiful in its depth, detail and energy. This is a great looking book for how it makes the characters look as well as how the tone of the story is reflected in the art itself.
