The Rundown: Simon recounts a case that will bring the Silver Lantern Club together to face a dangerous entity.
Bruttenholm and Hellboy decide to thank Simon for his company before heading out on their mission. Unfortunately, their departure prompts the man to not only tag along but to also regale them with another story from his past. A tale that requires the entire Silver Lantern Club to solve. A tale where the club finds their efforts stymied and all of their cases hitting dead ends.
As some look for elusive ghosts, a pair hunt a monster who has been digging beneath the city and escaping any attempt to find it. As they compare their sad stories, they discover that their individual cases might be linked. As the society travels beneath the city, they discover a ceremony that could bring forth a dark presence into the world.
The Story: Mignola and Roberson bring this story to an exciting and satisfying conclusion. The story has a great buildup of emotion, camaraderie and ideas that kept me engaged throughout. The pacing was excellent and kept me entertained and intrigued throughout. A fun adventure filled with great characters and an engaging spirit.
The Art: Stenbeck and Mitten deliver some beautiful visuals throughout the issue. There are some fun and compelling action moments and great, engaging moments between characters that caught my eye.
