The Rundown: Hellboy and the Professor listen to another tale from the Silver Lantern Club.
Professor Bruttenholm and Hellboy are ready to continue their investigation of the Old Bailey in London, but Simon has other ideas as he wants to tell them another story of his life as a paranormal investigator. As the two get more drinks and prepare for another story, Hellboy notices a strange painting on the wall. A painting that leads to a new story from Uncle Simon.
Simon and his friend Honora have taken a leave from Oxford to investigate an apparent haunting. When they encounter a strange creature in an alley, the pair give chase only to find that they aren’t the only members of the Club working the case. As their investigation continues, they discover a connection to a famous artist who has been sketching a creature seen in a vision. A creature they will have to summon in order to stop.
The Story: Mignola and Roberson deliver another fun and entertaining story from the world of Hellboy. I like the interactions between the characters a lot. I also really enjoy how the story is developing the members of the club and how their interactions with each other keep me engaged as a reader. The plotting and pacing of the story is great as well and I look forward to the next adventure.
The Art: Stenbeck and Mitten deliver some great visuals throughout the issue. The characters look great and the visual tension is solid across the story.
