The Rundown: Hellboy is in Russia to meet someone with information for him. What he finds is something more interesting and sinister.
Hellboy finds himself at the remote Goloski station in Russia. The only other person there is an older man with a shotgun and a sack. When Hellboy is told that the contact he was supposed to meet was waiting to kill him, Hellboy and the man hunker down for what looks to be a long night when a trio of strangers arrives at the station.
When the sun goes down, Hellboy and his new friend find themselves in the fight of their lives against forces determined to destroy them both.
The Story: A fun, engaging and action filled story that is both effective in its lead up and execution. Mignola does a great job of pacing the story in a way that the reader is both anxious about what is going to happen and curious about the man waiting with Hellboy for night to arrive. I really enjoyed this story and how it unfolds.
The Art: Matt Smith delivers some impressive visuals in this issue with awesome actions sequences and great character moments.
