The Rundown: Hellboy and Woody go in search of a possible alien aircraft and discover something new.
Woody starts his new job as a member of the BPRD, but the short staffing issues of the department require him to split his time between his work in the lab and work in the field. Unfortunately, work in the field starts taking up more and more of Woody’s time and every encounter makes him more upset that he hasn’t been able to discover a new species yet.
When a supposed UFO lands in the woods outside a small town, Hellboy and Woody are sent to investigate it. After finding the disappointing truth, Woody is upset until the pair of them are attacked by something that will change everything for Woody.
The Story: Mignola and Roberson deliver a fun and entertaining story in this issue. I really enjoy these one-shot stories and how they expand the world of the character while bringing an interesting self contained story. There’s some entertaining dialogue and action throughout and I look forward to the next adventure.
The Art: Martinbrough delivers some great art in the issue. The character designs are brilliantly done and the atmosphere of the story is visually engaging.
