The Rundown: Maia goes to her superiors for help to rescue her husband.
With Sebastian missing, Maia goes to the Shrouded College to plead for help in recovering him. Unfortunately, the college decides that she needs to complete her mission and rescue her husband on her own. A decision that forces her to confront someone who wants her dead in order to get the help she needs.
In the aftermath, Maia uses the power of the coins to call on demons to help her rescue her husband from the man using him to make more. A move that will put them both in grave danger as Maia calls on evil to fight evil.
The Story: Soule delivers a dark chapter in this story and the tension within it is fantastic. I love seeing Maia take matters into her own hands and the growing danger to her and her unborn child makes her mission more engaging to the reader. I love the intensity of the story and how it takes some dark and twisted turns that leave me with more questions and a sense that I cannot predict what will happen next for either character.
The Art: Sliney delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are bright and visually engaging.
