The Rundown: Helen begins to learn more about her grandfather’s world as Lilith becomes more worried about her.
At a comic convention, a young man learns more about the writer C.K. Cole. In the past, Lilith continues her story of the strange circumstances of her time as governess of Helen. Times that include Helen traveling with her grandfather to the Other World and the adventures she returns with.
As Helen begins training to be more of an asset in that world, Lilith continues to worry. Her worries come to fruition when the pair return and Helen is severely injured. Injuries that will cause a shift in her relationship with her grandfather that she might never recover from.
The Story: King continues to craft a brilliantly complex and immersive world in this series and this issue is beautifully compelling as it continues to create interesting characters and emotional moments. I love the framing device in this issue as well and how the story grows and evolves as the notes move from one place to another. There is fantastic action throughout and a brilliantly immersive fantasy world being created throughout this issue and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
The Art: Evely blows me away with the visual style of this issue. I love the look of every character as well as the stunning imagery in every page and panel.
