The Rundown: Helen spends more time with her grandfather as her governess worries for her young charge.
Thomas has published his book and gets some interesting accolades from fans of the writer C.K. Cole. As he learns more about the woman who told him of her time at Wyndhorn, he believes that there is more to the story that he did not include. Things that will send him on a hunt for his recordings to listen to the strange and interesting tale he really didn’t believe.
In the past, the governess continues trying to Helen and things become tense when her grandfather eats with the pair and refuses to speak in more than grunts. After Helen has an outburst, the governess tries to find ways to reach her through the grandfather. When he decides to take her on a journey with him, the governess worries about the dangers that await them in the wild.
The Story: King continues to create a fascinating world in this series and this issue is filled with great characters, tension and emotion. King crafts a series of amazing moments and characters. I love the different elements of the story and how each one informs the other while expanding the world of the story and creating a compelling mystery I want to explore.
The Art: Evely delivers some breathtaking art throughout the issue. Every page is filled with beautifully detailed characters and backgrounds. The visuals are brilliantly immersive and provocative.
