The Rundown: Harley and Ivy have gone to the Mad Hatter in an attempt to find a way to bring Ivy’s fractured mind back into focus. When Hatter’s first attempt gives her some clarity, Harley tells him to get back to work on finding a way to help her.
While Ivy rests, Harley makes the mistake of checking up on Jervis. What she finds reinforces everything she thought about the Mad aspect of the Hatter when he tries to transform Harley into one of his living dolls with a little help from the Floronic Man.
The Story: An enjoyable and entertaining continuation of the story Houser is crafting for this duo. There are some great twists and turns throughout the plot and the story does a great job of reinforcing the bond between the two characters. Ivy’s struggle is compelling as well as Harley’s attempts to save her. Houser is doing a great job of giving these characters an arc that shows how much they need each other and who they can ultimately rely on.
The Art: Adriana Melo delivers some amazing panels in this issue. Not only do the characters look great, but Hatter is drawn with ever increasing menace as the issue progresses and the action scenes are fantastic.
