The Rundown: Harley and Ivy find the quiet of their “home” disturbed and the fight to escape will send them towards another potential threat.
Harley and Ivy are literally fighting for their lives as Jason Woodrue aka The Floronic Man wants to consume Ivy and her powers. It’s going to take a miracle for them to escape from the new guardian of the green. Fortunately for them, Ivy has some new tricks up her green sleeves and they manage to escape.
While Ivy recuperates from their latest encounter and the pair find themselves back on the run, Harley will need to find someone who can help them with Ivy’s mental issues and loss of memory. Harley decides to turn to an unorthodox person for help; Mad Hatter.
The Story: This is a fun continuation of the story Jody Houser established in the first issue. It takes some strange, weird and interesting turns in the storytelling, but it manages to keep the essential heart intact; the relationship between Harley and Ivy. Their dynamic continues to be engaging and the trauma they are both dealing with adds great drama to the story itself. I like how this issue ended and it makes me curious to see where it goes next.
The Art: Adriana Melo has some great art in this issue. The emergence of Ivy with her new powers is a visual highlight in a great looking issue.
