The Rundown: With Ivy reborn, Harley decides to take her off the grid so she can get back to normal, but this is Harley Quinn we’re talking about.
Harley has Ivy back and the pair are trying to stay below the radar as Ivy gets used to being alive again. Their new life in the suburbs has its ups and downs and the biggest down is that Ivy is having trouble maintaining her new form. It’s a problem that might need a desperate solution from an unlikely source.
Harley really wants to help Ivy and decides to turn to a gift from Lex Luthor in order to do it. Unfortunately, a gift from Lex Luthor will always come with a price. That price comes in the form of the Floronic Man who has an offer for Ivy as he needs her for what he has planned for the Parliament of Flowers.
The Story: Jody Houser hits the ground running with this first issue and sets the tone for a series that will mix both humor and adventure as the two characters navigate a new world together. The dialogue is great and there is a perfect blend of Harley’s manic humor and a sweet relationship story between she and Ivy. It will be interesting to see how that is tested with the intervention of two different story arcs on the series.
The Art: Adriana Melo provides some beautiful and detailed art in this issue. Everything looks amazing and full of energy and movement.
