The Rundown: Harley and her friends battle the Caucus of Corruption. Kevin meets someone new.
Kevin narrates his present. He meets his Sam during a run in with the Magistrate forces. The two have an interesting conversation involving S.A.F.E. Then Kevin does something unexpected. Meanwhile, Hugo Strange deals with the fallout of a deadly event.
Elsewhere, Harley reunites with a simulation of Ivy and her old friends. She then recaps the recent events involving Ivy, including situations from the current Catwoman run. Afterwards, Keepsake introduces his new team of allies. When a confrontation occurs, Harley discovers something unusual.
The Story: Poision Ivy’s story continues in this episode of the Fear State saga. This chapter picks up the events after Catwoman #36. I found the story interesting and exciting. Although Hugo Strange’s reach is large, there are several villains involved in the current chaos, and I am curious to see how the bigger picture plays out.
The Art: Rossmo and Plascencia continue to use their signature modern and fantasy inspired styling to illustrate Harley’s Gotham City. The coloring is bold and eye catching. There is also an attention to detail that makes even the background scenery captivating. Overall, this is a well done issue that perfectly matches the tone of the story.
