The Rundown: Harley Quinn and her friends enact a bold plan to confront a violent multiverse opponent, Harley Who Laughs.
The story opens with Batman being assaulted by a group of multiverse Harley Quinns. Elsewhere, Old Lady Harley and Harley Who Joined a Bolling League, together with Kevin survey their surroundings. Soon an argument ensues when Kevin and Bowling League Harley have a disagreement regarding their next steps. They are then interrupted by an overwhelmed Batwoman who changes the focus to the issue of a growing amount of multiverse Harleys. After a plan is determined, the group sets out to put it into action. Afterwards they are joined by Harley Who Laughs and someone unexpected.
The Story: This issue has some top-notch action scenes. I was particularly struck by the general cordiality shown by the different versions of Harley. Even though, they are all quick to brawl, I found their humor and self-awareness charming. This chapter focuses on Harleys disparate friendships and how they sustain her. While Kevin is her rock, watching them have a healthy disagreement is interesting to witness. The cliffhanger ending is predictable yet impactful, and it makes me eager to see what happens next.
The Art: This issue uses a modern, realistic comic book styling in which the images have dual focus on both character and surrounding. Although set at night, the colorwork is bright and bold in such a way that the impact of Batwoman and the Harleys are heightened. Overall, I found the visuals to be both appealing and immersive.
