The Rundown: Robin confronts Harley after her resurrection.
The story opens with an unusual funeral in which Kevin is introduced to the Quintessentials. Afterwards, the two friends have a conversation regarding their next steps. Soon, Robin appears, and a battle ensues. Later, Harley and Robin discuss recent events and Robin issues her a warning. Finally, a mysterious villain makes plans and Harley comes to a decision.
The Story: Phillips creates an amusing, yet action filled narrative that is filled with surprises. The idea of Harley unintentionally creating a dangerous new group and then running with its theme in typically Harley fashion is amusing. Yet, it forebodes something much more ominous. The duality shown in Harley’s personality makes this episode powerful, especially the dramatic ending. One can’t help but wonder how much of her personality is mingled with the activity that Robin fears. Overall, I found this to be an entertaining chapter and I’m really excited to see where this story line goes.
The Art: This issue has well done action scenes that are visually appealing and interesting. I found that the modern design and bold coloring perfectly fit the story’s tone.
